Travelling Chalice

December 2, 2017

To encourage religious vocations, the St. Augustine Parish has launched a Traveling Chalice Program. The purpose of the Program is to encourage families to pray for vocations and to promote vocations within their own family.

Each weekend an assigned family, couple or individual can come forward at the end of one of the masses to receive the chalice.  In taking it in behalf of our parish, the household commits to praying for vocations (priesthood and/or religious life).

This program is ideal to help parish families become more aware of the need for vocations and of the possibility that God may be calling a member of their family to serve the Church in this way.

We suggest that you place it in some highly visible place in the home, for example, on the mantel if you have a fireplace or in the center of your dining room table. The following Sunday the family returns the chalice bag for another family to take home.
