Synodal Synthesis 2021-2024
During 2021-22, St. Augustine's Parish participated in Stage 1 of the International Synod for a Synodal Church, initiated by Pope Francis. Consultations, gatherings and surveys were completed and then compiled into a document summarizing the responses from parish participants. Special thanks to Brenda Gervais and her volunteer team who helped organize those events, with the support of Fr. Frank and the Parish Pastoral Council.

These findings were sent to the Archdiocese and were synthesized into the Archdiocesan Synodal Report, which was completed at Pentecost 2022. The link can be found here: https://ottawacornwall.ca/wp-content/uploads/2023/04/Synodal-Sythesis-Archdiocese-of-Ottawa-Cornwall.pdf For the Canadian national Synodal report, all of the Archdiocesan and Diocesan synodal reports were reviewed by the Canadian Conference of Bishops. The summary and synthesis of those reports was produced and sent to the Holy See in August 2022. Bishops will meet on these topics in the fall of 2023 and the fall of 2024.
